High operating pressure resistant type thermowell is drilled from bar stock to ensure its robustness, while regular type is usually processed from tube with one side welded sealed. The shape of thermowell is generally categorized into three kinds: straight, tapered and stepped. Its connection for sensor stem is usually internal thread. The connection with process container has several common choices: thread, welding, flange depending on different on-site conditions. The selection of thermowell material must take medium characteristics and working temperature into consideration.
